Bar 167 - 5 Fulton Street
According to the National food blog Eater it “feels like a boozy vacation on the Mediterranean coast”. Full bar, excellent cocktail program. Technically you could have dinner though the menu is high-end and with prices to match. Like with all 167 restaurants, quality is top notch.
Bin 152 - 152 King Street
My favorite bar in Charleston. A tranquil, European wine bar with a wonderful collection of people. Excellent selection of wines and small bites.
The Griffon - 18 Vendue Range
A dive bar with over $30,000 worth of signed dollar bills on the wall. Wonderful place filled with nice customers and staff. It’s not only drinks, but a decent menu of not so healthy but delicious plates.
Circa 1886 - 149 Wentworth Street
Located a little over a block away, it's a small bar attached to a restaurant. They offer a $7 till 7:00 happy hour. Tip: Enter the property via Smith Street. Happy Hour: weekdays 5-7.
The Bar at Husk - 74 Queen Street
Set in a small brick 'house' next to Husk Restaurant. Nice local experience, high-end cocktails, and local craft beers. Feels like going back to the 1920s. The full Husk restaurant menu is available at the bar.
The Belmont - 511 King Street
Transform yourself back to the 1920’s in this high-touch ‘speakeasy’ making classic to modern cocktails. Enjoy!
Proof - 437 King Street
A cocktail forward location with easygoing staff and patrons. Easy drop in for premium pre-dinner drinks and experience.
Graft Wine Shop & Wine Bar - 700B King
An approachable place to discover interesting wines and people alike.
Bar Vaute - 1 Broad Street
A hidden, underground treasure. Behind a nondescript door off of East Bay Street (past the corner of 1 Broad) sits a speakeasy of sorts, located in an old bank vault. Great cocktail and wine experience, with interesting bites.
Vendue Rooftop - 19 Vendue Range
Located on top of the substandard Vendue Inn. A reasonably priced Charleston rooftop bar, multiple decks catering to the loud and crazy to the quiet and reserved. My favorite go-to rooftop in Charleston.
The Dewberry - 334 Meeting Street
Go back to the 1920s with this traditional, top service, cocktail and wine bar. One could spend endless hours adoring over this art deco inspired lounge.
82 Queen - at 82 Queen Street
A mixture of tourists and locals. A great place to take in a reasonably priced drink and a quick Shrimp n' Grits appetizer. Do not stick around for dinner, you’ll be disappointed!
Salty Mikes - 9 Lockwood Drive
A dive bar behind a gas station with some of the best views in Charleston. Sit back and enjoy a surprisingly inexpensive but high quality drink and take in the ocean view.
